Course Entry Requirements

You can satisfy the English language requirements in a number of ways (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE (Academic), CEFR (CAE or CPE and others) to meet the VIT’s Course specific English language requirements. You must satisfy the requirements in one sitting or combinations of English preparation, or may be considered subject to meeting our internal assessment case by case basis and preceding the proposed date of commencement of course enrolment. Minimum Age Requirement for all Courses: 18 years or older at commencement of course

18 years or older at commencement of course. An English Language proficiency level of one of the below:

  • An appropriate English Language proficiency level i.e. IELTS band overall 6.5 and no individual band less than 6.0 OR equivalent.
  • Note: IELTS is NOT required for Applicants who have local Australian Degree; or Degree from the selected countries like: UK, USA, NZ, Singapore, Canada.
  • Other equivalent English Proficiency Level Accepted:
    TOEFL iBT (overall score of 79 with no score less than 60) OR PTE Academic (overall score of 58 with no score less than 50) OR CAE/CPE (overall test scale of 176 with no individual scale less than 169)
  • A recognised Bachelor Degree in Information Technology (for 4 units RPL credits) OR A recognised Bachelor Degree in any discipline
  • An overseas recognised Bachelor Degree (recommended 4 years) is equivalent to Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7 (for more info, visit website: www.aqf.edu.au)

MBA9118 – Master of Business Administration (MBA)
18 years or older at commencement of course. An English Language proficiency level of one of the below:

  • An appropriate English Language proficiency level i.e. IELTS band overall 6.5 and no individual band less than 6.0 OR equivalent.
  • Note: IELTS is NOT required for Applicants who have local Australian Degree; or Degree from the selected countries like: UK, USA, NZ, Singapore, Canada.
  • Other equivalent English Proficiency Level Accepted:

  • Based on interview with VIT staff with respect to work experience evidence (if any)
  • Bachelor Degree And/OR 5+ Years of Supervisory and Managerial Work Experience

ICA70112 – Bachelor of Information Technology & Systems (BITS)
18 years or older at commencement of course. An English Language proficiency level of one of the below:

  • Cert IV in EAL / IELTS band score of 6.0 or equivalent, with no band lower than 5.5. or equivalent
  • Satisfactorily completed ELICOS at least to Advanced level
  • Completed any AQF Diploma or higher qualification
  • Satisfactorily completed at least one semester of study in Australia in a tertiary course (satisfactorily for this purpose would mean that the applicant has completed more than 50% of the semester load)
  • The Dean may still approve unconditional admission based on other evidences such as an acceptable GCE A Level English score, which would be considered and approved by the Selection Committee
  • Completion of senior high school to the Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Mathematics Standard:
    Mathematics & Statistics (Australian Year 11 equivalent)
5 Domestic

  • Satisfactorily completed at least one semester of study in Australia in a tertiary course (satisfactorily for this purpose would mean that the applicant has completed more than 50% of the semester load)
  • Completed a Placement Test devised and administered by VIT or a nominated accredited agency
Any one of the below:

  • Completion of senior high school to the Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Mature age students can also enter based on an interview with VIT staff
